About me
"The body is a stage, and all the incredible processes happening inside it are fascinating stories to be told."
Hi, I'm Paige. In 2017, I completed my Master of Science in Biomedical Visualization at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where I specialized in Adverse Childhood Experiences and I have been working as a medical illustrator, instructor, and mentor with the Hive at UBC ever since. Most recently, I have co-created and been an instructor for the UBC Biomedical Visualization and Communication online certificate program.

What drew me to this field was realizing that many people don't fully understand their own bodies, which can lead to less-than-ideal health outcomes. I see the body as a stage, and all the incredible processes happening inside it are fascinating stories to be told. I absolutely love breaking down the science and putting it back together in ways that are meaningful and engaging, allowing those stories to come to life.

For the past six years, my passion has evolved into mentoring students in the exciting field of biomedical visualization. Together, we explore everything from illustrating anatomy and physiology to creating patient education materials and visualizing any project that sparks their interest, including their own portfolios and personal passion projects. In my free time, I'm actively working on my own medical illustration comic called "Blastula." It's a fun story about a red blood cell and an embryonic stem cell embarking on a quest to protect their human from immunological disaster!

I'm all about encouraging you to be your authentic self in this field. If you're curious about biomedical visualization and communication and where you might fit in this profession, don't hesitate to reach out. Let's connect and discover together!
